05-11-2011
: MilSciFi.com interviews author Bud Sparhawk, contributor to the anthology, By Other Means, book three in the Defending The Future series.

MilSciFi: "Welcome, please tell us about your story, and what was the inspiration for it?"

Sparhawk: "This story was sparked by considering what would motivate a marine to choose to become a fighting machine."

MilSciFi: "Is it a part of a larger universe?"

Sparhawk: "This is part of the Shardie cycle that started with BRIGHT RED STAR and continued with GLASS BOX."

MilSciFi: "Any plans to continue with this storyline?"

Sparhawk: "There will be at least four more episodes before the cycle completes."

MilSciFi: "How did you become involved with the By Other Means project?"

Sparhawk: "By invitation after a reading at Balticon."

MilSciFi: "What tips would you given an aspiring military science fiction author?"

Sparhawk: "Deal with the moral issues - they matter."

MilSciFi: "Is military accuracy important to you, or can one simply 'fake' it?"

Sparhawk: "Accuracy of behavior and attitudes is important.  Don't be mislead by simplistic movies."

MilSciFi: "With your growing success as an author, do you plan to continue writing for the Defending the Future series?"

Sparhawk: "So long as I get good reviews, I will."

MilSciFi: "Are there any upcoming projects you would like to tell us about?"

Sparhawk: "Publishing several eBook and Kindle collections and previously unpublished novels."

MilSciFi: "And what events do you have in the months ahead?"

Sparhawk: "Conventions in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington, Rockville, and Reno."

MilSciFi: "How can our readers find out more about your work?"
